Renato Goulart was born in Montes Claros (Minas Gerais - Brazil). Received the first musical incentives at age 11 in the Wind Band “Euterpe Santa Cecília”. Studied classical saxophone with Dilson Florêncio in the  University of Minas Gerais - School of Music. Participated of several festivals of music in Brazil, like the “27º International Course of Summer (Brasília/DF)”, “1º and 2º Vacation Courses and 1º International Meeting of Saxophonists” (Tatuí/SP) and “3º Ibero-American Congress of Composers and Arrangers for Symphonic Band” (Córdoba/Argentina). As composer and arranger, he was asked by ensembles like the "Monte Pascoal Saxophone Quartet & Percussion" to record most of his works for saxophone. Writes for many other ensembles, like “Cia Trombominas”, “Vera Cruz Saxophone QuartetMinas Jazz Orchestra”, “Brazilian Wind Orchestra”, amongst others. His compositions include various instrumental combinations, like Saxophone and Orchestra, Saxophone Quartet, Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra. Also composes for theater, like “Decameron” and “Cinema” by Anderson Aníbal.

Currently has been playing in recitals, shows, concerts and festivals, and teaches saxophone in Minas Gerais State University, in the "Foundation of Art Education" in Belo Horizonte and in cultural projects to the improvement of musicians from wind bands in Minas Gerais.
